Challenges
I was working with a Start Up which already started the design process for a mobile application. We worked with a global team, many of them in the middle east. As I started collecting some user feedback insights I received feedback insights were based to heavy on the middle east.
Process
Being that this app was launching in Portugal / Europe, I needed to understand the behavioural differences that come from interacting with digital touchpoints for Europe.
My goal was to research interaction patterns and interview people who knew first-hand the major differences when it came to building out the solution. We found ourselves reworking elements on the screen, such as buttons and text. I also restructured my persona’s favorite sports and trends to be Portugal / Europe specific.
Results
Not only was I able to expand my horizon and truly understand the fact that we are not the user, I was able to develop a new app based on culturally specific patterns and insights.
